Roosevelt Skerrit apparently states that he went to college in United States and completed his studies. I don’t think anyone has seen his certificate or his diploma or whatever he obtained.
What we do know ,Roosevelt Skerrit purchased two honorary doctorates. It is alleged that he paid $60,000 for an honorary degree from Lovely University in India. The alleged part is about the amount of money. But we do know that he did get the degree because the ceremony was in several newspapers ,online magazines and social media .
He then got a second doctorate from Duquesne university in Pittsburgh in the United States. We do not know how much he paid for this one. What we do know that on his return to Dominica from his second doctorate there was a large group led by his wife at the airport waiting for him. There was a large motorcade down to the capital city .
What is very interesting in all of this about the honorary doctorate was the people who did not understand began to call him Dr. Dr. Many did not even understand that he was not a medical doctor. They were calling the radio station asking to be his first patient . Skerrit himself did not understand the protocol of an honorary doctorate. There is a saying in the land of the blind the one eyed man is king and he was milking it . What was quite disturbing was the supposedly learned politician in the labor party such as Justina Charles would repeatedly call him Dr. Dr.
This really set a bad example to the younger generation that it was okay to lazy and not work hard for certain things in life. This goes back to the culture that the Roosevelt Skerrit has created in Dominica one of mendicancy.
We have in our possession a document which shows Duquesne university retracting the doctorate from Roosevelt Skerrit.We do not know about the authenticity of the document. It’s up to you to decide if you think it’s real or not . No matter what if it’s real or fake, Roosevelt Skerrit does not deserve any doctorate. What he has done to the Dominica and people especially in the last 24 hours has shown how brutal a dictator this man is. We are hoping that the great Catholic institution Duquesne University will release a statement soon enough. We also hope that Duquesne University has seen the Al Jazeera documentary showing the true colors of Roosevelt Skerrit.
