Roosevelt’s poisoned Olive Branch and the Hypocrisy of Those Who Join His Chorus!

Let them bathe in it! 

Recently, “AGAIN” after Roosevelt’s so-called landslide victory, he offered another olive branch to the opposition. He invited him to join with him and work with him. Does Roosevelt want Mr. Linton to come sit on his team while he “Watches Cartoons and scratch his balls” as Roosevelt said Hon. Linton is only capable of doing?

The people of Dominica already know about Roosevelt and his olive branches. They know that the olive branches are laced with poison, and no one in their right mind based on the history of Roosevelt’s offer of olive branches should trust them. You see Roosevelt is Roosevelt and will always be Roosevelt no matter what. As the saying goes, a leopard never changes or cannot change its spot, and Roosevelt cannot be anybody else but Roosevelt.

So ,let’s look at Roosevelt’s previous offers of olive branches, and how that worked. 

In 2011 Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit extended an olive branch to the Opposition saying that his office is always open for consultation on matters of state. He was speaking at the annual Independence Day Parade at the Windsor Park this morning.

His exact words were : “I extend an olive branch to the Opposition that as we join hands in building this country to overcome the present day challenges and make Dominica a more prosperous nation for our people because if we stand united we could achieve great things, but if we are divided we will not benefit from what God has in store for us.” 

That was in response to the opposition boycotting Parliament as a way to express this dissatisfaction towards what was taking place. The opposition subsequently accepted the olive and went back to Parliament, but things did not improve. They got worse. The insults and humiliation increased ten fold.  The unaccountability and disregard for the rule of law also increased. Roosevelt gave NOTHING, but got all he wanted.

In 2014, Prime Minister  Skerrit supposedly reached out to the opposition United Workers Party (UWP) following its “defeat” at the poll. That was after retaining power by what most described as by massive fraudulent means. He used tens of millions of what we now can fairly assume was state’s money derived from the sale of diplomatic passport (As confirmed by the Al Jazeera documentary) . He told his supporters at a victory rally of his Dominica Labour Party (DLP) in Portsmouth.  “I am extending publicly an olive branch to the UWP to join hands with us to build this country.” He also said “Now is the time to close ranks as a people, now is the time to put any negativism aside, now is the time to embrace each other as brothers and sisters, as Dominicans.”  If only Roosevelt himself was capable of doing that? 

In his remarks he also stated that “We are a party of affection, we are a party of forgiveness, so let us embrace everybody.”  He said a lot more in that same vein, but his words were all in vain! It did not take long for Roosevelt, his gestapo, the speaker of the house and all those close to him to unleash a vicious, malicious, diabolical wave of venom, and all manner of division, and evil acts upon the opposition and all those who support them. These acts included opposition members and their supporters being dragged to court on trumped charges and hired mercenaries from Britain who coming to Dominica for the purpose of  framing the leader of the opposition, and if need be, do him bodily harm. 

There were many other little olive branches offered here and there after Roosevelt had aggrieved opposition members, but they were small ones, quiet ones. Note that Roosevelt the culprit is always offering the olive branch after his offences. He behaves like the psychopath who cannot take responsibility for his own actions and believes that he is entitled to be right even when he is wrong.  

So here comes the biggest olive branch of them all. For 11 years the majority (82%) of people of Dominica which includes the opposition have been demanding electoral reform, mainly the cleaning of the voters’ list and the issuance of ID cards. And for 11 years all they get are deception, lies, manipulation, legal jargon, misrepresentations, Shenanigans, games, push-backs and no electoral reform. All directed by Roosevelt, Levi Peters, Tony Astaphan, Alick Lawrence and the gang of what people who know them very well refer to as hungry hyenas.

Another election is gone, they doubled down on what they have been doing for the past three election cycles. They spent between $75M to $100M of dark money. Nobody knows the source, although some people suggest that it is also from the sales of passports, diplomatic and otherwise. 

They used millions of that money to bribe and transports voters from all over the  globe to take Dominica in make the wishes of the local voters null and void. They had the nastiest campaign in the history of Dominica. Never have Dominicans absorbed so many lies, so much deceit, and such a level of manipulation via their well oiled and well financed propaganda machinery, local, regional, and international. Never has so much money been spent uselessly on an election. Never have we seen so much election fraud and blatant bribery. 

This was like a drama movie. They made a total mockery of the election process in Dominica. They broke every election rule, and every law.  They even brought down Caribbean mercenaries to brutally attack and subdue a segment of the population. They retained power under these circumstances, with 18 of the 21 seats. Here comes Roosevelt, the innocent man who did no wrong, and won the election fairly and squarely  offering another olive branch!

At the swearing-in ceremony of the new cabinet on Tuesday, Skerrit pleaded for the opposition’s cooperation in the national interest in this process and extended a “hand of brotherhood” to the UWP by inviting them to work in peace and unity with the government in the wake of the general elections. That was after denying them the electoral reform for 11 years until he had put all that he needed to put in place in an effort to cement his dictatorship, and save himself (He thinks) from whatever being in power shields him from. What utter disrespect to the opposition and the people of Dominica who wanted and fought so hard for election reform BEFORE the December 6th election.

Very  soon after Roosevelt played his deceptive, manipulative tune waving his poisoned olive branch we saw his choir of agents joined in the chorus. Tina Alexander sang alto, the bishop sang soprano, Parry Bellot was on drums, and the rest were just making  indistinguishable noises that no one can understand or want to hear. 

We the people suggest that Roosevelt and his choir hold on to the poisoned olive branch , and give us the following:

The TRUTH/ Confession

Void that sham election

Give us what we were asking for prior to the election

Let’s go back to the polls. 

We ask the Bishop as the man of God holding a prominent place of influence and moral guidance in this society to guide us through the process
