PRESS RELEASE

Press Release:
Washington DC,
December 10; 2019
Contact: Emanuel Finn

Former U.S Senate Congressional fellow and Washington DC based Dominican, Dr. Emanuel Finn has called on Roosevelt Skerrit to step down immediately and is calling for new elections in six months due to the highly and blatantly disputed election results on December 6th. Dr. Finn’s position is that the vote should be annulled because of widespread irregularities, gross and clear manipulations and corruption.

In addition, Finn is perplexed and confused by the fact that Skerrit who came from humble beginnings in the northern mountains gave the cowardly and spineless order for heavily armed foreign troops to attack the village of Salisbury in the early morning hours of December 5th. The soldiers conducted themselves similar to an undisciplined and brutal rebel force in eastern Congo with reckless abandon and total disregard for the rule of law and lack of consideration for the very old and the very young. What a shame!!!

In new elections the candidacies must be secondary, what comes first is to pacify Dominica. But if Mr. Skerrit is worth 2% of the salt in his body, or has an iota of patriotism, then he should step aside. Skerrit must look at himself in the mirror and know that he did not win but instead Dominica lost the elections.

Mr. Linton and UWP-Team Dominican have nothing to be ashamed of for they fought the hard, long and noble fight on behalf of our island home. Team Dominica candidates and their families need to be commended for their sacrifice, sufferings and love for country.

The strong message to Roosevelt Skerrit is that victories won by deceit, theft, bribery and coercion amount to the greatest of all failures. Skerrit has failed miserably and I feel sorry for him. But more than that, along with thousands of our citizens at home and abroad, we grieve and weep for Dominica for it has found itself in a very bad place in terms of the country’s international image and its integrity with potential local and foreign direct investors thanks to Roosevelt Skerrit.

  1. Malcolm Stowe says:

Finn is not a Skerritt fan so it is not surprising he writes a bias article in favour of the fellow rich guy who lost. Perhaps he should stick to dentistry and US political smiles in DC and leave Dominica alone.

    • Kalinago Justice says:

@mal-come; I am not surprised at your comment, the stowe name says it all! Do you happen to know one who carries the name stowe involved in the racketeering of citizenship/passport sales? Hope you’re not a beneficiary?

  2. Jeffetson Henry says:

I have said it and will say it again. We will not rest, we will not give up, we will not stop until justice prevails and a re-election in conducted in the proper manner that is true , that is just and that is fear towards all men and women and to the local citizens of the commonwealth of DOMINICA with respect, with courage and with honor for ALL DOMINICANS.

    • MayDay says:

Another hypocrite standing on high moral ground posing as some important authority. The double standard is again apparent and disgusting. Change the team

  3. John Joseph says:

Malcomb Stow, we all know that you are the brother of a Dominican based lawyer, who sells many passports of which only some top Dominicans in and out of government, knows how that money is used. And if you are one of those beneficiaries, then I have to conclude that you will show no concern as to the where about of all of those Dominican Passports money goes to, and how it is managed, because there seem to be no accountability from all of the passport hauxters to the government and people of Dominica. Do remember Sir, that the passports are the property of the Government and people of the Commonwealth of Dominica, and not the property of Doncan Stow and the Dominica Labour Party. May God guide and protect you, Amen.

  4. Marcy Guiste Ramsawak says:

Well said Mr Finn…. Dominica needs electoral reform and voters ID card we need free and fair elections… Skerrit has no conscience no love for country or Ppl… We deserve better…. I’ll never give up as long as have the breath of life…. I slept on the street at Patriots square and I’ll do it again and again!!

  5. Justin Joseph says:

Who the fuck is Finn where were you all after Hurricane Marine . Election results was okay in 3 constituencies you all won ?

    • MayDay says:

Ask Finn to pen a plan and spend some of his energy finding soldiers while he orchestrates it’s implementation. I dare him. Watch him dive back into hybernation. Such a waste all the crying wolf energy going around. The strategy failed. Sot

    • Ken says:

Easy, easy-Justin let’s agree to disagree respectfully as black people. But Emanuel Finn is a Dominica who has a different view as yours. Is that ok Justin?

  6. MayDay says:

Yah they should continue with the failed strategy of crying wolf, holier than thou attitude with slippery fingers instead of addressing solutions head on. A bunch of lazy intellectual authors with a pity narrative instead of a problem solving narrative. That’s too much effort to dive deep. SMFH. Pissed offffff

  7. Shirley Anthony says:

Every time someone says something about the PM that He is doing that’s wrong his supporters are angry why is that. He is not perfect. He is a dictator. This same supporters of the PM will cry and I hope it won’t be to late when Dominica will get like the country of Venezuela. America should step in but American only care of country where they have interest. What do we have in DA we don’t have oil so. When PM supporters get reports in his favor his supporters like that when the report is not in PM favor they don’t like him. Shame

  8. Joe Linton says:

Mr. Finn if you so strongly believe the election was stolen why don’t you advise the leadership of the UWP to take the matter to Court???

  9. Christian Volney says:

    I echo Mr Finns sentiments…
Skeritt’s blatant disregard abs misuse of State Funds during this election was evident and transparent !
The election was manipulated by foreign voters who were “paid and bought “by Skeritt and his Labour Party” to effect the outcome of the election!

    • MayDay says:

Please, failed strategy. Wheel and come again. A lot of noise about voter ID. No strategy for voter legislation to forge a level playing field. 19 years wasted crying and walking out of parliament. Please get with the program. Change is a must. Put your eloquent authors to work instead of the penned blah blah blah.

  10. Born Dominic says:

I wish we had professional, what we have is juniors with lack of formal education, you vote in an undereducated president who immediately think he is Good, take a look at all the dictators of other countries, they’re are all undereducated, he gives you $2.00 and you thin you owe him a vote, You’re selling your country.
