Ambassador Ward Gives Us Some Food For Thought

Ambassador Ward is the chairman of  Caribbean Research and Policy Center, and former Ambassador to the US from Jamaica, he runs The Ward Post.

Recently he was asked to publish a news release “To Save Dominica’s Democracy” from the opposition leader Honorable Lennox Linton

In the interest of objectivity and fair play,Ambassador Ward requested that the Prime Minister of Dominica gives his side of the story.

Parry Bellot, one of Roosevelt’s main enablers, gatekeepers and  defenders of Roosevelt Skerrit confronted Ambassador Ward and offered to stand in place of Roosevelt.

Parry’s comments:

This is especially for Amb. Ward:

As you might expect from an Opposition Leader (and a forment “political” journalist who had LOST several court cases including at the Privy Council for malicious disinformation) Mr Linton’s  appeal is laced with untruths, exaggerations and straight lies.

I will send you two ( or more, if my very busy schedule allows…) short articles tomorrow which partially present the opposing FACTS..

I am better at direct conversation. You may call me anytime (767) 245-4618 to answer your specific concerns and queries

Sincerely

Parry R. Bellot

Ambassador Ward’s reply to Parry Bellot, is instructive and enlightening,, we believe it will give the general public an informed idea of the role of Governments and the opposition in democratic countries like Dominica, with his permission we share his response to Parry Bellot.

Dear Mr. Bellot,

The Ward Post is interested in an official response/ release/ statement from the Government addressing the issues raised by Mr. Linton.

As far as I  know, the Leader of the Opposition is a constitutionally empowered individual to speak on behalf of the people of Dominica, at least on behalf of those who ascribe to his leadership. He is expected to be accorded the highest respect endowed by the Dominica Constitution.

On the other hand, the Prime Minister speaks on behalf of the government and the entire country in his capacity as PM. Where the Leader of the opposition raises certain issues implicating the government in misfeasance, nonfeasance, or malfeasance, it is incumbent on the Prime Minister to respond and set the record straight. To remain silent may be interpreted as a  sign of disrespect for the people. It is not enough for surrogates to respond for the Prime Minister, unless officially designated to do so. I might add, any such surrogate must be of high enough level of the government to have credibility.

The Ward Post facilitates comments by individuals, as long as those comments do not constitute personal attacks on individuals.

My invitation to the Prime Minister remains open.

Sincerely.

Curtis Ward

Parry Bellot concedes with this pathetic, shameless and disgraceful reply:

Thank you for your response.

The PM does NOT respond to every bit of nonsense put out in the public sphere (remember Lincoln’s famous quote). In this busy season, he has to decide on his priorities.

I just thought you might be interested in an Op Ed view for balance. [edited for grammatical correctness]

We sincerely hope that our Dominican people can find value in this response, separate the sheep from the wolves and be guided accordingly.

  1. Let my People Go! says:

Parry is a Pharisee. As one of the slave catchers commissioned by a bribery philosophy government of ill repute he bows, scrapes, and kneels to the new Massa posing as “Labour” to gain favor. He is a pitiable example of those who live life on bended knee. We bow to no one but God. Never shall the red Kool Aid Koshionee idol cause us to lose our dignity and pride as a people worthy of liberty. Parry be gone!
