Just a week ago, OJ Seraphine a former (INTERIM) Prime minister of Dominica, who served in the gap that the constitutional crisis Charles Savarin created, was on (In the spotlight) a popular Q95 program with Ferdina Frampton.
The show was highly rated and got good reviews. Seraphine got much praise for his performance on that show as well as some well deserved kudos for his performance in handling the country after hurricane Maria the 1979.
What he did not know is that exactly one week after that show he would be in the spotlight of a different kind, a disgraceful and pitiful one at that. The world renowned international news agency Al Jazeera published a promotional clip in which Seraphine is implicated in the never ending diplomatic passport for sale in Dominica saga.
The short video shows Seraphine negotiating with an unknown person presumably from somewhere in Asia to help him obtain a diplomatic passport for Dominica. He can be heard describing Roosevelt’s elaborate scheme which he referred to as a master plan to transport Diasporan voters to vote for the labor party. Seraphine explicitly advises that the proceeds of the passport will go to help the Labor party’s re-election for the fourth time. He also demands a cut of $50,000 for himself.
Subsequent to the release Seraphine comes out with an explanation that basically implicated him deeper, he spoke about his association and business dealings with Sam Raphael the CBI King, and how he was introduced to the diplomatic passport buyers.
According to Seraphine, he was introduced to Leo Ford who arrived in Dominica in 2005 and through him (Seraphine) Leo purchased a property at Mourne Acuma where CBI King Sam Rapheal presently has a hotel, with the hope of building a multi-million dollar project of that property. He further stated that a senator from St. Thomas from Dominica introduced him to Ford.
Question: Who is that senator?
Seraphine’s story continues to say that he and Ford founded a Company called Vistas ….He spoke about other people that this relationship got him in contact with including a very wealthy knighted investor who gave him letters of introduction to pass on to Prime ministers around the Caribbean including the Prime Minister of Dominica. If Seraphine was trying to absolve himself, in our opinion he failed miserably, as the saying goes, he dug a deeper hole for himself. For one he just established his relationship with the players, and his involvement is being a middleman in the deal makings!
So let’s connect some dots. We all remember that two years ago Roosevelt declared that he was going to be nice to former Prime Ministers of Dominica, was this a sinister plot to cover up how nice he was being to Seraphine? According to Reports Seraphine is the ONLY Prime Minister that Roosevelt has been nice to by allocating him a very nice, expensive Government ride to go around. Why didn’t Roosevelt offer that some courtesy to the most recent former PM Edison James, and do something nice for Patrick John too?
There are other unconfirmed reports of Roosevelt being in an unusually cosy relationship with Seraphine. According to word on the ground Seraphine is the only Former Prime Minister who is officially invited to Roosevelt’s events such as independence celebration activities, that we cannot confirm, but if that is the case something is really amiss!
Why did you do that to Dominica OJ? You have rightfully, and shamefully gained your place in the history of infamy in our history books, you have damaged your post David management legacy which people applauded you for and found yourself in the enemies of the gang! We gladly add you to the wall of shame.
