Dr Pascal and Nurse Anette Sanford thrown out of stadium.

Dr Irvin Pascal and Anette Sanford stood at the Stadium during the National Rally, 2019 in silent protest against the Dominica Labour Government. Dr Pascal’s shirt read “Independent Health Care Now” and Annette Sanford’s shirt read “Stop Victimizing Kalinago People “. They stood quietly and peacefully holding the flag .

They were  standing against the victimization& marginalization of the Dominican people. On the FB live video,  it shows what appears to be a police officer illegally forcing the silent  protesters outside the  stadium. The plain clothes officer is seen putting his hand on Dr Pascal even pushing him at one point and forcing both of them out the door. He also demanded that the camera man leave the stadium .

Is this Dictatorship on full display in Dominica? Can anyone peacefully protest on Dominica anymore?

    This is angering.

I started watch live and was very proud of Dr. IP & nurse Sanford. I was not expecting to see what I saw happen last night.

  2. Judith Pestaina says:

Dominicans must stand up and be counted to safeguard the rights and freedoms given to them under our Constitution. Self government does not mean the freedom to trample people’s freedom and democratic rights. If you do not stand up for something you will stand for nothing

  3. Dr. Sam Christian says:

Despite flickers of outrage here and the, Dominicans at this point seem ripe for re-enslavement. I am so proud of Nurse Sanford and Dr. Pascal. At my Friday presentation on the Bayfront I dared medical professionals to stand with surgeon Dr. Thomas whose contract was not renewed. I got my answer.

Many patriots defended their non-action by saying they had no idea what happening. Ok, fine. But even after the fact their reaction lacks conviction. Personally, I am not in the position to attend every event. Had I been there…well, there will be other opportunities – and I think soon enough.

  4. Ambrose says:

It’s time that those who are affected by this brutal behavior of these criminals in government take a stand, the tine is ripe to challenged these political criminals, only by do this the majority will gain the respect from these politicians

  5. Parry Bellot says:

There is a time and a place for every thing. Even in the greatest democracies ( America, CAnada, etc) do people get removEd from certain public events (ask Jane Fonda…) Sometimes even charged.
Down with unpatriotic trouble-makers who seem to make politics of everything these days

  6. Shirley Allan says:

Parry Bellot, you were once a respected man in the Dominican society, this is no longer, you have sold your mind, (Well some say lost your mind) and your soul for scrapes from Roosevelt’s table, the dictator’s table, and this is very sad commentary.. When Jane Fonda was fighting for equality and justice she was doing so, so that we did not have to in 2019. This is why we MUST get rid of this tyranny in Dominica, or it will get worse for our children!
