Justice Bernice Stephenson Brooks in delivering her judgment on the request to delay the election has ruled that the election injunction would be determined after the election.
She also went on to state that this was out of her jurisdiction. What exactly that means remains unclear. This is a tremendous blow to the concerned citizen movement and the opposition party in Dominica.
This however was not unexpected as in his address to the nation last evening Prime Minister telegraphed his inside knowledge by assuring the nation that the election will proceed on December 6th.
The ruling is expected to be appealed.
No one in their right mind expected any other ruling from Stephenson. Therefore it is not a tremendous blow but an anticipated part of the process.
