A Heart to Heart with Roosevelt Skerrit

Dear Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit,

I have never called your honorable in your 20 years of being a Government Minister, and subsequently the Prime Minister of Dominica because I have never considered your an honorable man. However if by calling you honorable I will get your attention, I gladly do so because what I want to say to you is so very important. I need to get your attention for your own sake. As a humanitarian I am concerned about your welfare. According to what I see from a lay person’s viewpoint you are losing your faculties and your soul.

Hon. Roosevelt sir, I heard you on a video today saying that you study the bible, and you quoted Matthew 7: 8 which says “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye. shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh.” You said that in relation to asking China to build and international airport for you, and they agreed to do, so.. One question on that though, why isn’t the airport that China is going to build for you in your beautiful, expensive glossy manifesto? Was it an oversight? Tell the people the Truth Sir!

You did not say that this was the 7th or 8th or 9th time that you assured Dominicans that you were going to build an international airport, let me remind you of the many occasions you said that, and you even put it in your manifesto yet it has not materialized *2005 DLP Manifesto, page 31, Air Access* , “In our Manifesto for the 2000 general election, we stated our approach to improving air access into Dominica by constructing an international airport.”

*2009 DLP Manifesto, Page 30, last paragraph* – “The Dominica Labour Party government remains committed to the construction of an international airport for Dominica.”

*November 2013* – during a visit to China, Skerrit signed a US$300-million deal with Chinese company ASCG with “reconstruction of an international airport” among projects to be undertaken under the agreement.

“(The) Chinese government will provide preferential loans to support those projects,” ASCG said.

*December 7th, 2013* – “The Chinese Embassy in the Commonwealth of Dominica would like to clarify that the widely-reported US$300 million MOU, including the construction of a hotel, a hospital and an airport by using concessionary loans from the Chinese Government, was not signed by the Chinese Government,” – Chinese Embassy of Dominica clearing China’s name.

*May 5, 2014* , at the Dominica Labour Party ‘Stepping Out’ Rally, Skerrit that his government was actively pursuing several projects including the construction of an international airport through the BOOT – Build, Own, Operate and Transfer – option, with a team of private developers from China

*2014 DLP Manifesto, page 24, paragraph 3* – “Improve air transport to Dominica by constructing the international airport for which there is already an agreement in

collaboration with a private sector partner from the People’s Republic of China.”

*March 11, 2017* – Speaking to students at the North East Comprehensive School in Londonderry on Thursday, Skerrit said that “government is doing everything possible to build an international airport here in the north east. You will be that first I am saying so, because I have not said so to the country before that we have in fact engaged an international firm, an American firm to do all of the studies in relation to the international airport and they are coming down to do a presentation to the cabinet on the 21st of April, 2017 on their findings,”

*March 17th, 2017* – “I shall focus my energies to ensure it, that we can get the funding to build this international airport for our people.”

*April 23, 2017* – “I can tell you that this country, our country Dominica will see itself having an international airport. And what the experts have said to us [is] that the airport is feasible, the airport can be constructed, and what I said to them is that I want this international airport constructed in Dominica. So they’re now moving to do the EIA [Environmental Impact Assessment], they’re moving to do more detailed studies of the area, to give us more specific details on the construction cost, and we will also be required to acquire some properties in the area identified.

*May 4th, 2018* – “We said in the Parliament here of our intentions to build an international airport and the only reason why we are not more advanced now is because of the hurricane[Maria].

*May 23, 2018* – “And if I have the runway, I can just put two containers at the airport and call it terminal building and planes land. Once I have the aeronautical equipment and the radar and so forth, I don’t need no fancy building call a terminal building. When we have money, we will build it.”

*July 17, 2018* – “The government is fully committed to the construction of the international airport. We believe that this airport will enhance our economic and social development.”

*July 25, 2018* – “In addition, two friendly countries have given commitments to assist with various aspects of the airport, We propose to commence negotiations in September 2018, for the 50 acquisition of private lands and properties necessary to facilitate the construction of the international airport.”

*October 16, 2018* – “What we have decided to do as a government is to save every month to construct the airport, to raise the funds to construct the airport, so every month we have been saving US$5-million from the Citizenship By Investment Programme to put into a special International Airport Development Fund and we have started the process of land acquisition. Once we settle on the price today, within 48 working hours you will get a cheque for your land because we want to ensure that the people whom lands we will be purchasing, we can pay them in a quick time,”

*January 10, 2019* – “We will build this International Airport for Dominica and we are committed to this. “We have commitment from some friends; we have some of our own monies and we have enough money to pay for the land which values between $50 to $60 million from Eden back to the Woodfordhill area.”

*May 3, 2019* – “In the last two days the world bank has had a field mission here in Dominica. In the hope of designing a project geared at improvement and resilience in air transportation. Central to this project we hope, will be the possibility of accessing the technical capacity that government requires to manage, administer and implement the international airport project.”  Next time to do your bible studies look up John 8:44, KJV:

It reads, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” I don’t know what God you serve, but the God believers serve do not like liars, and you sir are a proven liar.

Also look up  Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Why are you referred to as a hungry hyena Sir? Isn’t not for you lust for money? Sir you must stop bringing more curse upon yourself and your children, by using the name of God in vain, you cannot fool God, so don’t try. Don’t involve God in your little deceptive, manipulative games.

Sir, you cannot continue to use the verses in the bible selectively to manipulate a nation for your own selfish and diabolical reasons, it will definitely catch up with you, sooner than you think! If you still one iota and conscience left in you, I suggest that you take a little break and reconnect with your conscience, you need that reconnection, and repent.

And one more thing sir you need to see a psychiatrist urgently! Save yourself!

Sincerely,

Shirley Allan

One who has been observing you for 15 years now!
